100 Ladies In Waiting, 100 Wondering Women, 100 Supporting Actresses

Over 77 years, 385 performances have been nominated for Best Supporting Actress. It's often the most wild and unpredictable category and a personal favorite of mine.

Over the next few months, I'll show off when I believe to be the 100 best that were up for the award.

(The actresses with the most nominations in this category)

So, Change Of Plans...

Ok, so forget what I said. Since the Best Actress category has been discussed to death (especially on this blog) and since I only barely touched based with Best Supporting Actress, I figure that would be a good place to go.

So, I will now leave the leading ladies alone. Some women will never get the recognition they deserve....

100 Ladies, 100 Performances, 100 Reasons

So, I've been away for what feels roughly like 50 years. I still come to the blog every now and again and feel like writing something. Still, nothing comes.

But, I've had a total change of heart for the people out there who still wonder whatever happened to Sage. Well I'm still here and I've had an idea brewing for awhile. 100 Ladies for 100 reasons.

Yes, it's one of those awful ranking lists again. But, this time, I will reasons, causes, accolades as the ladies come down the line. A reason, you see.

Even though we've had a few questionable Oscar winners...

This will only best for the best ladies who ended up being nominated for their respected performances in the Best Actress category.

So take a shot, relax....

And wait for me to name the first woman as #100 in our countdown.

There are 423 nominated in Best Actress, only 100 can make it in this damn thing.

2012 Best Actresses

I've been something of a ghost around here, and many factors go into that. For one thing, I really have no interest in blogging anymore; it was an amazing thing being able to see and review all the nominees nearly 2 years ago, however I don't think I could ever do it again. There's just not that interest anymore, especially since everyone started reviewing the same categories. Second, life is very hectic, different, and more fulfilling. So no time to blog!

However, I'll always have time for the Best Actress category.

I doubt I will have time in the next few weeks to track down these nominees. Which makes me sad I can't have a definite opinion on Oscar night.

However, I have seen the two frontrunners, and I'm glad they are both extremely good.

Jennifer Lawrence's characterization is something special. It brings back the old days when nominees could be entertaining, realistic, and unexpected. It's a fun performance considering most of the comedy doesn't revolve around her, she's more of a side character who is forced unto the audience like a storm. In the end, this is a fantastic performance that was shockingly unexpectedly great. Shows Jennifer Lawrence's power as an actress.

However, the Oscar should go to Jessica Chastain.

To say the performance is layered is an understatement. From the moment we meet her, her fragility is obvious, and as strength grows, the line about being a 'killer' is more and more accurate. At the end, those tears signify how the character has transformed. It's the true definition of a Oscar winning performance.
