"Actress In A Leading Role" 2010

And now for the most recent leading ladies:

2010
And the Academy selected:
  • Annette Bening in The Kids Are Alright
  • Nicole Kidman in Rabbit Hole
  • Jennifer Lawrence in Winter's Bone
  • Natalie Portman in Black Swan
  • Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine
So, which one will end up winning the Oscar? Or more importantly, get my support? ;)

Portman will win the real Oscar, I have feeling Williams will get your support though.

I haven't seen any of them yet. I just guess and say you will pick Lawrence (no idea why, lol)

I'm also doing this year, but it's no problem now. Everything is about Oscar at the moment. Natalie will win hopefully at both places, I was so shocked, touched and amazed by her. She deserves to sweeep, but I'm terrified that she may not win, I won't calm down until she wins BAFTA. I don't know who you will pick, though. I would say Williams or Lawrence but it seems to be that you loved Black Swan, so Natalie might win. Nicole and Annette will be fourth and fifth for sure.

I thoroughly enjoy this year's batch of actress nominees. Love Portman and Williams and Kidman almost equally.

Portman will surely win.

As for your support, I think everybody has a chance. This really looks like a very strong line-up of actresses this year.

I have seen Bening and Lawrence and they were both really impressive. I've got to see Williams very soon. Maybe it would take me time before I see Portman and Kidman. Still, I believe this is a much stronger line-up that most of the previous years.

I've heard so many mixed reviews of Rabbit Hole so I'm looking forward to your review.

Having only seen three out of the five, Portman's was even more impressive on second viewing and she will be a worthy winner I believe. I appreciate and like Black Swan more now too.

And, also, I hated Annette, so it'll be interesting to see what you think of her.

I'm glad everyone is excited :)

I'll go ahead and say this is the most interesting year we've had in a very long time...

I think we deserve a great year after the extremely weak 2000s. 2010s may be much better. And we can know even next year's winner (Meryl as Margaret Thatcher).

Don't count your chickens yet :) They always say that when she has a movie coming out.

Well, yeah. It seems that Glenn Close has a great role in Albert Nobbs, but I'm not going to let myself believe that she could win (Chéri once again?). If she does, it will be even better than Meryl's win.

Who even wants to see a movie about Margaret Thatcher? It's like The King's Speech, what was the purpose of that being made?

I agree this is a much better lineup then last year, and even better then 2008, though I need to revisit that year. As for the winner here, I'll guess Williams or Lawrence.
